Can bruxism affect my dental crowns?

Before getting dental crowns it is necessary that your dentist knows all the dental and oral problems that you have, because bruxism can affect dental crowns too. People that have too much pressure in their bite can develop jaw problems because they are always tense and clenching their mouth.

This is why many patients have dental problems, and this can be the same if you have crowns.

What is bruxism? One of the symptoms is feeling with pain in the morning, especially headache or feeling numbness in your face, then you will have the sensation of having too much pressure in your mouth, also known as bruxism. One way to know if you have bruxism is to tell someone to observe if you make scratching noises at night.

This is the most important sign to be secure if you are suffering from this condition. Bruxism wears the tooth and changes the natural positions of the teeth by the pressure exerted; the natural curves of the teeth would look like if they were aligned and very square, plus they will be reduced in size. Before considering a makeover and crowns, first you have to ask your dentist what you can do to stop clenching your teeth.
